Jason and the Punknecks play two Rochester shows: one on Thursday, Sept 4 for free at Abilene, and one on Friday, Sept 5 at Monty's Krown.
This heavily tattooed band from L.A. plays hillbilly rock 'n' roll that somehow sounds like just that - not rockabilly, so much as a twang-laden romp through country-tinged originals, given some extra sass by the full-figured Polly Punkkneck, whose sweet harmonies and acoustic guitar playing round out the vim and vigor that the rest of the band brings to the show. Jason and the Punknecks have been on the road for three years; the band lives the life, looks the part (go see ‘em just for the eye-candy), and backs it up. You can also catch them Thursday, September 4, at Abilene.
