Yeah, he looks a little bit like Bat Boy. But man, can Irish tenor Ronan Tynan belt beautifully. He was one third of The Irish Tenors until he split to go solo in 2004. He's the New York Yankees' favorite vocalist, and enjoys singing the national anthem for The Buffalo Sabres as well. After 9/11, Tynan sang at a massive memorial at Yankee Stadium, and then later 24 separate firemen's funerals. Consequently he was made honorary deputy fire chief for the New York City Fire Department. Nobody sings "Danny Boy" better.

Ronan Tynan performs Sunday, July 27, 7 p.m. at CMAC, Lincoln Hill Rd, Canandaigua. $35-$150. 232-1900.
