Finding the perfect marriage of the visual and musical arts has been a creative challenge for centuries. From traditional French ballet to Britney Spears' music videos, the visual interpretation of music takes on many forms. The RMSC puts its spin on this artistic tradition with the Holiday Laser Show. Using music from Mahalia Jackson, Vivaldi, and the Japanese 80's pop sensation Yutaka, the show rings in the holidays with an eclectic 40-minute light display. The brilliant lights and lasers are set against a diverse mix of jazz, gospel, traditional holiday carols, and world music.
The Holiday Laser Show runs through January 1 in the Planetarium Dome. Tickets cost $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $7 for children 3-18. Call 271-4320 or visit rmsc.org for more information and show times. (Children under 5 are admitted to day-time shows only.)
