In like manner to Downstairs Cabaret's previous sing-along "Shout," "Boomermania" celebrates Baby Boomers through song. "Boomermania" romps through the 50's, 60's, and 70's with familiar songs like "Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch" and "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter," replacing the lyrics Yankovic-style with parodies; in this case, "Sugar Pops, Cap'n Crunch" and "Mrs. Pauls, You Make a Lovely Fishstick."
"Boomermania" is on stage at the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, 540 East Main St, Saturdays at 5 & 8:30 p.m., Sundays at 3 p.m., and every other Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $26-$29. Call 325-4370 for recommended advance ticket reservations, or visit downstairscabaret.com.
