For the second year, the Rochester theater community is getting together to wish each other good luck - oops, strike that, to tell ‘em to break a leg - as the new theater season opens. The shindig takes place at the German House, with plenty of dance, drink, and music. Comedian and actor Sky Sands hosts the event, and besides visiting the cash bar, you can also bid on theater-related items at the silent auction, or listen and dance to the David Labman Jazz Trio. The night also includes the presentation of CITY Newspaper's second annual Spirit Award to Broadway actor John Bolton, a Rochester native, who will perform a few numbers during the evening.
Tickets cost $10, and are only available in advance, by calling 381-9181. Proceeds will benefit Artists Unlimited, a theater program for individuals with special needs. The party starts at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 8, at the German House, 315 Gregory Street.
