THEATER: "Finishing the Hat" (11/30)

By Dale Evans on November 26, 2008

Donna Lynne Champlin has some stories to tell, and some songs to sing. She has been around the front and back of stages and dressing rooms of many theatrical productions, and she has the tales celebrity-obsessed fans love to hear. She's combined her love of musical theater, and her personal experiences working in the field, into a one-woman show she has written, produced, and performs herself.

The show was first introduced as "Songs and Stories." Champlin's stories were pulled from a hat with her never finishing them all in one night. So, when the producer came back and said she had to "Finish the Hat," the new name was born. Blackfriars Theatre brings the show to town for two performances only; Saturday, November 29, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, November 30, at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $25, $23 for seniors, and $15 for students. Blackfriars is located at 28 Lawn Street; you can make reservations by calling 454-1260, or visit blackfriars.org for more information.
