One of the great pleasures of summer is when a breeze stirs and cools you, if for just a moment, on the hottest of days. That breeze will come in handy if it shows up around Keuka Lake for the 5th Annual Kites Over Keuka event this weekend, where you can buy a kite, or bring your own, and join local kite clubs flying the colorful things by the lake. There'll also be refreshments, food hot off the grill, and live music.

Kites Over Keuka takes place on Saturday, June 20, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Keuka Spring Vineyards (243 Route 54, East Lake Rd, Penn Yan). Admission is free. Proceeds will go to the Yates County Humane Society. Go to keukaspringwinery.com for more information.
