Comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer entered her profession on a dare. But after a few nights at the mic, her friends - and audiences - quickly realized nothing was off limits with this funny lady, and they loved her for it. Westenhoefer, the first openly gay comedian, will perform at the Iroquois Ballroom at the RIT Inn & Conference Center on Saturday, July 11, as part of her "Finally Legal...in a Few States" tour.
Though her stand-up routines are largely made up on the spot, she's had plenty of practice. Westenhoefer has appeared on "The David Letterman Show," HBO, Bravo, and Logo, to name a few television appearances, and has even performed on cruise ships with the Indigo Girls and Ani DiFranco.
The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets cost $30. The conference center is located at 5257 W Henrietta Rd. The event, sponsored by ImageOut, is part of Rochester's annual Pride Week. For tickets and more information, visit imageout.org.
