Trains are making a comeback in the United States, and might just become the next best mode of public transportation. Celebrate the locomotives of the past by heading out to the New York Museum of Transportation Sunday, July 19, for its "Trolley Time" event. See some beautifully restored trains at the museum, and learn about their history - and future - as they regain popularity.

Spend the day learning about the super energy-efficient trolley and how it works, and take a look at the restoration of century-old Rochester trolleys. You can find information about bringing rail transportation back to Rochester, and even take as many trolley rides as you want, considering the trolley runs every half-hour all day long. It's the only trolley ride remaining in the state.

The museum is located at 6393 East River Road in Rush. Admission to the event costs $6-$8. Visit nymtmuseum.org for event information and directions.
