To see or not to see? That shouldn't even be a question when it comes to the Rochester Players' production of "Hamlet" at Highland Bowl (on South Avenue).
The group has performed at the bowl for its annual Shakespeare in the Park event for more than 10 years, and the shows usually draw large crowds of spectators, and sometimes even a few unwanted pests (bring your bug spray). In case you dozed off in your 12th grade English class, here's the Spark Notes version: "Hamlet" follows the Prince of Denmark in an understandably brooding mood - his uncle just murdered his father and married his mother. Ouch. After a bit of contemplating, our protagonist springs into action and, in true Shakespearian form, things take a turn for the worse.
Performances begin Friday, July 3, at 8 p.m. and run through July 18. The show is free. For more information, visit rochestercommunityplayers.org.
