Following a recent City School District lay-off scare, teachers and alumni of the School of the Arts joined together and created COLLAB, a showcase of the arts, exhibit, and sale to raise money and awareness for arts education.
The event, which will be held on Saturday, August 22, at the School of the Arts (45 Prince St.), will feature large art installations by 2007 SOTA alumna Katrina Stokes as the centerpiece. Stokes used visual imagery from classic literature as inspiration for her work, which she combines with live performances for this event.
COLLAB will be held 6-9 p.m. and is free, although donations are strongly encouraged. For more information, call 242-7682, ext. 1551.
