The Beach Cheap Aquathlon Series takes place on August 27 at Durand Eastman Park.
As August comes to and end, we're flinching at the idea that fall will be here soon. Even if you did something every single day this year (hopefully you took our Summer Guide to heart) it seems like it just wasn't enough. So here's another chance to take a trip out to the beach this week, for the last of the Beach Cheap Aquathlon series races.
Head out to Durand Eastman Beach for the last of the three races put on by Fleet Feet Rochester and Yellow Jacket Racing, which teamed up with the City of Rochester to bring the event to the beach this year. The race consists of a 1K swim in the water and two 2.5K loops along the beach and bike path. Participants receive t-shirts, and there will be a large cookout after the race is over.
The last race of the Beach Cheap series takes place Thursday, August 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Durand Eastman Beach (Lakeshore Blvd). Registration costs $20-$35, and race day registration starts at 5 p.m. Or preregister at fleetfeetrochester.com.
