WORKSHOP: "Exploiting Your Music" (10/2)

By Jen Graney on September 30, 2009

If you're in the music business, it's for love, not money. You play gigs at local clubs and rack up bar tabs you can barely cover, spend more on recording sessions and album pressings than you ever recoup in CD sales, and when it comes time for new equipment or to pay rent on the practice space, forget it. The lucky ones break even. For the rest of us, it's guitar strings or groceries.

Get some tips on how to make the industry work for you instead of against you at the Arts & Cultural Council's workshop "Exploiting Your Music in 2009." It's held on Friday, October 2, 9 a.m.-noon. Registration is required. The workshop costs $35 and includes a continental breakfast (so you don't have to worry about groceries for at least one day). Call 473-4000 or visit artsrochester.org.
