The 17th Annual Lane Dworkin Jewish Book Festival is a seven-day affair that showcases Jewish authors and books with Jewish content. The event goes beyond your typical book sale to include lectures, book signings, panel discussions (including one on mystery writing), kids events, and much more. Erin Arvedlund (pictured), author of "Too Good To Be True: The Rise and Fall of Bernie Madoff," will appear on opening night. Check the website as events are added beyond the festival, to include dates through next spring.
The Jewish Book Festival takes place Sunday, November 1, through Sunday. November 8, at the Jewish Community Center (1200 Edgewood Ave, Brighton). A full-service bookstore will be open Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Go to rjbf.org for a schedule of events, extended hours, and details on specific readings and signings. While some festival events are free, others require tickets. Go to the website or call 461-2000 to get yours.
