"Swing for Victory" tells the story of The Four F's, a quartet who perform on the eve of VE-Day in 1945 to boost the spirits of soldiers who only have their radios to keep them company. Through songs by Irving Berlin, the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Rogers & Hart, Dorothy Fields, and more, the musical evokes the mood of the time, and brings the audience through a revue of popular swing songs of the era.
"Swing for Victory" opens Thursday, October 22, at the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre Center (540 E Main St). Tickets are $27 general admission for shows on Monday through Thursday, and $32 for shows happening Friday through Sunday.
