How responsible are we for cleaning up the mess in our lives? The strange and hard to define idea of happiness comes to us, at times, on a cluttered course of discontent. In "The Clean House," main character Lane wants her house to be clean - but she does not want to clean it on her own. Mathilde is a maid but wants to be a comedian, and would prefer to be elsewhere, concocting the perfect joke. Lane's sister, unhappy and confused, is obsessed with meticulous cleanliness.
See how the three women work out their messy situations this month, as Geva stages the Pulitzer Prize-nominated play through November 8. Geva Theatre is located at 75 Woodbury Boulevard. Tickets cost $22-$59. For a full listing of show times or more information check out gevatheatre.org, or call 232-4832.
