Photographer Bob Sacha has walked the streets of New York City along with 3.5 million others, but he is inspired by what lies beneath those streets. He and his camera travel below the city, through countless manholes, tunnels, and subway tracks. These places are where many choose to live and call home. Driven by curiosity, Sacha navigates through the inner workings of the underground, capturing the pulse of an entirely different world - a world both disheartening and visually captivating.

Sacha's work covers a wide geographic range, from China to New Orleans to underneath New York. To Sacha, the idea of travel and photography come together as a "meditation and an adventure." Sacha is both a producer at NYC's Emmy-winning MediaStorm studio and a teacher at the International Center of Photography. He will be the last presenter in the "Wish You Were Here Series," a travel photography series dedicated to exploring new destinations through the work of renowned photographers.

Sacha's lecture will be held on Sunday, November 8, at 2 p.m. in the Dryden Theatre at the George Eastman House, located on 900 East Ave (271-3361, eastmanhouse.org). Admission is free for members, $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens, and $6 for students. Stick around for an artist book signing after the lecture.
