More than 2000 years ago in China (and maybe as many as 4000 years ago, depending who you're talking to), acrobatics began to take shape as an art form. In the early days, people used whatever they could find for props: tables, chairs, plates, jars. Then, during the Han Dynasty (221 BC-220 AD), content changed and more varieties developed. Music was added. Later, during the Tang Dynasty (618 AD-907 AD), more and more people began to participate.

Fast forward to today, and you've got the Golden Dragon Acrobats touring the world with a performance of the centuries-old art/sport. You can catch the troupe in action on Saturday, November 7, at Wadsworth Auditorium, SUNY Geneseo (1 College Circle, Geneseo) at 8 p.m. Tickets are $16. Call 245-5211 or visit geneseo.edu.
