On Saturday, November 7, across Rochester (and even across the state) tons of people will be hosting parties for one reason: in celebration and support of the upcoming merger of AIDS Community Health Center and AIDS Rochester.
Locally, Night of 1000 Parties will include a public event at Max at High Falls (60 Browns Race) commemorates the event in several ways. Well known local artist Cordell Cordaro (you've probably seen his work even if you didn't realize it, hanging at places like Java's, Artisan Works, and 2 Vine), created the one-of-a-kind, symbol-laden painting "Solidarte" (pictured) exclusively for this event. You can get your shot at owning it during the live auction. There'll also be a diva impersonation performance by The Big Wigs, along with coffee, desserts, and a cash bar. Tickets are $50 per person, and proceeds will help fund local HIV/AIDS care. Go to aidsrochester.org for more info.
