THEATER: "No Child..."

Before you're seated for "No Child...," a one-woman show at Geva about the ups and downs of the American public school system, you'll go through a metal detector. This sets the tone for the stories you're about to hear, 16 of them in 70 minutes, about students and employees of a high school. The play won the Best New American Play award in 2007, and is being touted by Ad-Hoc Productions (an organization of local arts and education organizers) as a "must-see" for Rochester.

"No Child..." runs through Sunday, November 22, at Geva Theatre Center's Nextstage (75 Woodbury Blvd). You can catch it Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30. Tickets are $20, though group discounts are available. Call 232-GEVA, or visit gevatheatre.org.
