Every facet of the holiday seems larger than life in the avant-garde, wild, and lavish production "Cirque Dreams: Holidaze." Fusing the art of European cirque-style performance with American circus and Broadway flair, the production is an extravagant, theatrical spectacle of balancing acts, skillful marches on thin wires, elaborate dances, and vocal arrangements. The cast is made up of international talents, from acrobats and aerialists, to dancers and musicians, each appearing as gingerbread men, toy soldiers, spinning penguins, icemen, and more. The performance will feature an original musical score, alongside a few traditional holiday pieces.
The show runs through Sunday, December 13, at the Auditorium Theatre (875 E Main St). Tickets cost $32.50-$57.50; to check show times or order tickets, visit rbtl.org or call 222-5000.
