When most people hear the name Agatha Christie, they usually think of her popular mystery novels. What a lot of people might not realize is that the British author also penned several plays in her career, including a gem called "Murder on the Nile" (on of my favorites as a young bookworm).
Based on her 1937 novel, "Death on the Nile," the play follows newlyweds Simon Mostyn and Kay Ridgeway on their honeymoon on the Nile. Throw in Simon's former lover, a peculiar cast of characters and (of course) a murder and you've got a recipe for classic Christie mystery that's sure to have you on the edge of your seat.
Actors from the Black Sheep Theatre will perform "Murder on the Nile" on Fridays and Saturdays from January 29 through February 13 at 8 p.m. There will also be one matinee show on Sunday, January 31 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 for students and seniors and can be purchased by calling 414-3927. For more information about the rest of the season, check out the group's Website, blacksheeptheatre.org.
