COMEDY: Kathy Griffin (2/5)

By Ledwing Hernandez on February 3, 2010

Have you ever seen a celebrity in person? If you've never had the opportunity to be cut off in traffic by Brad Pitt or have your driver's license returned to you by Christopher Walken, don't fret. Kathy Griffin has had all kinds of encounters with the gliterrati, and her upcoming comedy show at RIT's Gordon Field House is a prime opportunity to start small and be entertained by the self-proclaimed D-list celebrity. Griffin has acquired all kinds of dishy celeb stories from her career, which got its start in projects as diverse as "Pulp Fiction" and "Suddenly Susan." Since then she has won two Emmy awards for her Bravo show "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-list," and has been nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Comedy Album. With a resume like that, Griffin should deliver a great show and might just be on her way to the promised land of the C-, or maybe even B-list in no time.

Kathy Griffin will perform at RIT's Gordon Field House on Friday, February 5, at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $17 for students, $26 for faculty/staff/alumni, and $41 for the general public. For more information call 475-2509 or visit ticketmaster.com.
