Valentine's Day is coming again. Ack. Yeah, it's a holiday created to sell greeting cards and chocolates, but that doesn't make it sting any less for single people when every couple in existence gets all shmoopy all over the place come February 14.

If you've been looking for love in all the wrong places, Lux Lounge's Get Your Freak On event might be a way to find a special someone in an unconventional way. Billed as "Lux's answer to speed dating," the event will feature 20 men and 20 women paired up for rapid-fire conversations in the hope of igniting a spark or two. (Note to my homosexual comrades: it's just the breeders this time, but if this is a success the bar is considering doing a gay version in the future.) If the idea of speed dating and its superficial nature makes you gag, note that this is Lux - it's geared toward the kind of folks who are a little off, a little different, a little more interesting. The kind of people who make for one hell of a party, and just maybe, one hell of a partner.
