LITERARY EVENT: Central Library Giant Used Book Sale (3/11-14)

By Rebecca Rafferty on March 10, 2010

I've often woken sharply at night after I turn in bed, inadvertently shoving a few of the books I'm snuggling up to off the edge of the mattress and onto my wooden floor. Until they figure out how to put literature into an IV drip, or until my loved ones intervene, I've got a permanent problem with my addiction to tomes. The possibility of finding treasure at a used bookstore or sale is far too tempting, and my shelves are far too crowded. So, Rochester, I'm asking for your help with this one: please get over to Central Library's Giant Used Book Sale and snap up all the goodies before I do.

The sale kicks off on Thursday, March 11, 3-8 p.m. in the Kate Gleason Auditorium at the Bausch & Lomb Public Library Building (115 South Ave.), continues Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and wraps Saturday and Sunday 1-4 p.m. If you're a member of the Friends of the Rochester Public Library, you get to preview the wares starting Thursday at 10 a.m. Book prices range from a quarter to $1, except special items. On Sunday, books are $3 for a bagful. Call 428-8322 with any questions. Will you arrive early for the best selection, or wait until the end for the best deal? Choose wisely, my fellow bibliophiles.
