When someone tries to relieve the pressure of the junk overflowing in their attic, they normally decide what to keep and what to throw out by thinking about the items' monetary values. Geva Theatre's production of Arthur Miller's "The Price" adds in the dimension of emotional value. In the play - on stage now through March 21; see the review in this issue - two brothers meet in the attic of their childhood home before its imminent demolition. Through the process of going through their old possessions with the aid of an appraiser, they stir up emotions that have been buried for decades.

As an interesting way to explore the themes of the play, Geva and WXXI have partnered to put together an antiques appraisal show, completely open to the public. At "What's the Price?" 13 local appraisal experts will be on-hand to help you determine the value of your long-buried treasures. If you have something that is too big, you can also bring in photos of the item.

"What's The Price" takes place Saturday, March 6, 9 a.m.-noon. Appraisals are free and limited to one item per household; reservations are required. For more information call 232-GEVA or visit gevatheatre.org.
