The tale of Androcles and the Lion dates back more than 1500 years and has seen retellings by some of history's greatest storytellers, from Aesop to George Bernard Shaw. On Saturday, July 24, and Sunday, July 25, Rochester Children's Theatre will bring the classic tale to its Theatre on the Lawn series at Nazareth College.
RCT's troupe of professional actors will perform the tale of Androcles and his unheard-of friendship with the big cat as part of its Renaissance Festival. Admission to the Renaissance Festival is included in the $10 ticket price.
Show times are Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 2 & 4 p.m. Nazareth College is located 4245 East Avenue. For more information and a full list of RCT's events, visit rochesterchildrenstheatre.org.
