Comedy Central's ingenious, wit-injected news program "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" seems to produce a never-ending supply of humorous cutie pies who report on politics and entertainment with just the right blend of sarcasm and straight-face. For an hour, we willingly laugh with Stewart and his gang at the absurdity of things that, reported on the actual nightly news, evoke tears and ire.
John Oliver, Emmy-winning writer and correspondent for "The Daily Show," and host of the short-lived series "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show," will perform a stand-up show at the University of Rochester's Yellowjacket Weekend. The show takes place on Friday, September 3, at 9 p.m., in the Strong Auditorium on the River Campus. Tickets are $7 for UR students, and $25 for the general public, and can be purchased at the Common Market in Wilson Commons on campus, or online at urochestertickets.com. Reserve yours soon, because they're bound to fly. For more info, call 275-5911.
