Are you interested in the health of your body, your environment, and your wallet? The rising emphasis on supporting locally sourced food will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4, at the 2nd Annual Celebrating of Localvore Fair, hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County. The event will feature vegetables, dairy, and fruit samplings, giveaways, and interactive produce-related activities for all ages. Learn about localvorism through educational home, environmental, nutritional, and horticultural displays from the Northeast Organic Farming Association of NY, Abundance Co-op Market, and others; shop a miniature localvore farmers' market of produce and flowers, and create vegetable art at the "carving station." Check out composting options (with and without worms) while you enjoy live musical entertainment.
