Show your support and love of the Rochester theater community by attending the 4th annual Break-a-Leg" celebration Monday, September 13, at 7 p.m. at the German House (315 Gregory St). Since 2007, our thespian community has gotten together to preview and celebrate their upcoming seasons, and to honor a Rochester-area native who has worked extensively in the field of professional theater. This year the City Newspaper Spirit Award will be awarded to Michael Park (pictured), who has appeared in Broadway and off-Broadway shows, and earned a Daytime Emmy Award for his portrayal of Jack Snyder in "As the World Turns." Park's acting origins are on several Rochester theaters, including Blackfriars and JCC Centerstage.

The event will be emceed by Dresden Engle and Ken Harrington, will include live musical performances by the David Labman Trio, Michael Park, and others, and feature upcoming season highlights by local artistic directors. Tickets cost $15 in advance, $20 at the door, and proceeds benefit Artists Unlimited, a theater program for individuals with special needs. For more information, or to purchase advance tickets, call 381-9181.
