Congratulations on keeping your New Year's resolution! You didn't miss a day of working out at the gym. (Not!) But now that it's summer, why not take your workout outside? And have fun with it?
If your interest is in hiking, kayaking, cycling, fishing, paddling, running, or any number of outdoor recreations, the Adirondack Mountain Club can provide you with information, and in many cases hands-on experience, during its Outdoor Expo. Gain know-how on what to do if you're lost in the woods, how to keep bears out of your food, and how to cook outdoors. Or test paddle the newest kayaks and canoes. And if you like group participation, there will be representatives from many outdoor clubs and organizations to meet.
The Outdoor Expo takes place Saturday, June 14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Mendon Ponds Park. To print out a schedule of demos and workshops, go to the website at gvc-adk.org.
