The Hunger Banquet takes place Sunday, March 9 at Blessed Sacrament.
Most of us grew up with our parents telling us to be thankful for the food we have, since there are children starving in Africa and/or India. There are "the hungry" in America, too, but that fact usually gets buried under the more extreme examples. This Sunday, March 9, Blessed Sacrament hosts an Oxfam America Hunger Banquet. The exact details are meant to be a surprise, but in general, the Hunger Banquet offers the participant the experience of living in a totally different set of circumstances. We know conceptually about hunger. This event brings it into the experiential.
Blessed Sacrament is located at 534 Oxford Street. The Hunger Banquet begins at 1:30 p.m. The event is free but contributions will be accepted. Call 406-4709 for reservations.
