SPORTS: Carriage Driving Competition (8/13-8/17)

It's off to the races Wednesday, August 13, through Sunday, August 17, with the annual Walnut Hill Carriage Driving Competition. The event will be held at Walnut Farm, 397 W Bloomfield Road in Pittsford, and will feature horse-drawn carriage races, a dog show, sheep herding, and more.
There will be more than 100 races held over the five days, with categories ranging from men and women's single-horse races to best costumed race. Other highlights include Ascot Picnic Night Friday, August 15, which will feature a gourmet picnic dinner and a performance by the Pittsford Fireman's Band. On Sunday, August 17, the Rochester Scottish Pipe Band will perform traditional Scottish music for the crowd at 11:30 a.m.
