Flubbed lines, slamming doors, missed entrances, and prop woes. Those close to the theater know and dread these possible mishaps with every performance, but when it's happening to someone else, it's suddenly hilarious. That's the case with "Noises Off," a well-known bedroom farce that will have you in stitches from the first sign of mayhem to the final curtain.
Blackfriars Theatre will perform the dizzying romp Friday, July 18, through Saturday, July 26. This play within a play shows the backstage antics of a fifth-rate acting troupe, and what happens when the spit hits the fan.
"Noises Off" is directed by John Haldoupis, and will be performed nightly at 7 p.m. (no show on Monday, July 21), and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, at 28 Lawn Street. Tickets are $24 for adults, $22 for seniors (60+), and $12 for full-time students. For tickets or for more information, call 454-1260 or visit blackfriars.org.
