If you're out on Saturday night , and you don't want to have to talk to your date, this is the place for you - walking in last night (Oct. 3), I almost suggested that we go find another place to eat, like Casa de Pasta, or Eddie's Office, or the Lumberyard Grille, but sadly, I decided to try it out. Aside from the 20-something who seated us, none of the other wait staff could bear to smile. We were seated and then abandoned for awhile - place mats would have been helpful, as the tables are all scratched up. I've eaten in plenty of similar places - Jeremiah's, MacGregors', Lock's, but even Hot Shots Indoor Volleyball wasn't as horrendously loud as this place. The patrons weren't kids, but adults with families who were actually yelling across tables and the room. The ladies bathroom was littered with toilet paper and paper towels - I even picked them up on my first trip in, and it was just as bad the second time around. The food was obviously pre-prepared - the "loaded" baked potato had spent too much time under refrigeration, the sour cream in a tasteful little plastic container, sourdough bread that had more resemblance to Wonder than anything else. The draft beer was the only salvation, although when we asked for our check, we got another (unwanted) beer - at this point my companion was beyond sending it back - maybe it's more enjoyable on a different night, but neither the food nor the staff made me want to return, EVER.
