Artist Biography

Blind Drives began with the collaboration of some of the best young musicians in the small town of East Rochester. It began in November of 2007 with an upcoming performance opportunity. Max Puglisi formed his pick of musicians to perform the Dave Matthews hit ’Ants Marching’. Though they performed without saxophone master Aaron Davis, and with the addition of violinist Mark Gowman, the song was a hit and the band decided to become permanent (without the violin). After some songwriting sessions and another performance of ANOTHER DMB song, the band had written some originals and was ready to play for real. Blind Drives’ recent debut show at the Montage Music Hall has sparked a lot of popularity with the group, where they performed original songs along with a few of the covers they’ve picked up along the way. With a new setlist and a solidified lineup, Blind Drives is out on the towns, playing shows around Rochester.

Blind Drives’ music can be described as a break from the restraints of the genre Alternative. With heavy influences rooted deeply in Funk, Jazz, and Jam oriented groove music, and a mix with traditional rock and roll and psychedelic styles, the music produced by this band is ecclectic, soulful, and groovy. With humble beginnings, Blind Drives has grown to become a fluent, musical power whose grooves slither through listeners minds, and whose raw, exciteable stage presence leaves a lasting mark on its viewers. Having a wide range of cover song selection and a unique choice of original material, Blind Drives sets out to reconquer what people know about "New Funk Alternative" and deliver it to them in a package of musical precision, creativity, and excellence.
