Cavalcade was established in the spring of 2005 by Sean Havens (drums) and Michael Munn (voice, guitar) in Rochester, NY. The group was formed with the intention of portraying the vision of its members, a derivative of their own musical sensibilities and always evolving. They’ve been able to portray this vision in numerous performance venues and in the studio. Ryan Wilson (bass) joined the band in the summer of 2005 and the three quickly cut a demo. They played a ton of shows locally and in many arenas outside of town for the next two and a half years while continuously writing and recording. Their first record entitled, ‘It’s Flooding In Here’ was released in the summer of 2008 and Brian Moffitt (bass) and Nathan Briscoe (guitar) joined the collective shortly thereafter. The group is currently recording the follow up in its own studio and performing frequently. Recent performances included an opening slot for Grant Hart (formerly of the legendary Minneapolis-based SST group Hüsker Dü) and a show at the 2009 incarnation of Boulderfest here in Rochester.
