Artist Biography

Comedown is an Indie-Rock band that resides in the Rochester, NY area.

Comedown started back in 2004. At the time, vocalist and guitarist Phil Tharp was playing drums in the Christian-Metal band Atonement and had little creative control in the music and the lyrics. Phil started writing and recording his own music in his spare time. When the songs turned out better than he thought, he called up his friend and fellow musician Shane Newhouse, hoping to turn his home recordings into a band. It was 2006 that Comedown was formed with Phil on Vocals and Guitar and Shane on bass. All they needed was a drummer and they would be set.

Comedown's future plans were put on hold when Phil found out that he was moving to SC later that year. After moving to SC, Phil tried to continue the band, but was not able to find anyone to join. After trying for an entire year, Phil gave up. It seemed that Comedown was truly dead. It wasn't until January 2008 that Phil found out the amazing news that he is moving back to NY.

June 1st will mark a new beginning for Comedown. Phil will be moving back to Rochester, NY and reuniting with Shane(now returning on drums). 2008 looks to be a promising year for Comedown. They will entering the studio over the summer to record their debut album "And Nothing Less" and are planning to release it by the end of 08. They also plan to tour in support of the album.
