The average marriage doesn’t last as long as these five musician’s from Rochester, NY have been happily (and not so happily at times) bound in sonic matrimony. In the wake of a one and a half year breakup in 2006, Joe Spinelli (vocals), Brother Tom (guitar) and childhood friends John Enright (bass), Rich DiRenzo (guitar) and Kyle Dean (drums) resurfaced as Pheromones. With a new name, new sound and fresh start, making the past year feel like the first all over again.
Influenced from iconic classic rock such as The Beatles & Led Zepplin to the 1980’s new wave of The Smith’s & Cure to the modern day U2 and Weezer; the Pheromones sound is powerful, hook laden rock and roll that transcends the compact disc to the stage. Currently playing out on their self released, self produced Bloody Hands EP, Pheromones are looking forward to another year of the small clubs, musty smells, draft beer and loyal following it has come to know and love in Rochester, NY.
Guitarist Rich DiRenzo sums it up best in an interview last October when asked what keeps a band going after all these years. “When you share the same desire and fascination with music as four other people does, it’s a beautiful thing.” If you think your catching a whiff of a band that loves what they do, you probably are. A pheromone is a release that attracts much like that of five people with an obsession to write the best music they possibly can.

Great band! Having traveled from Alaska via Hawaii, this was a great band to listen to at Damien's Pub on Saturday, St. Patrick's celebration! Keep jamming! I can't wait to see you on Jay Leno's show. I can't wait to get my autographed copy of your CD. Aloha from Alaska, one fabulous fan!
