With their release of their self titled full length CD and music video, the Eclectic Neo-Classic Symphonic Power Metal band Steel Kingdom has fast become one of Rochester, NY hottest local acts. Currently they can be heard on SIRIUS satellite radio and local programming, and their music video has been featured on MSN and UVTV. Their originals, along with a few cover songs will leave you screaming for more. Not only because of their skill, but because of the massive variety they display in their style. Using more than one style, Steel Kingdom has created an original sound and will mix it up playing rock, power metal, progressive speed and climatic ballads all in one set. All of the members are accomplished songwriters and have been in the music scene close to 15 years. The voice behind Steel Kingdom is Sean Williams who studied at the Hochstein School of Music. Along with being a unique front man, his voice is steady, rhythmical, and emotional and will speak straight to your heart. Mike Caputo’s guitar command puts him in immediate contention as one of the finest shredders in Rochester who November 2005 issue of Guitar Player magazine was described as “the quintessential progressive guitarist demonstrating a command of textural elements, acoustic guitar technique, and a melodic lead style utilizing impressive legato phrasing.” Holding down the low end and bringing all the instruments together is bassist Herb Renke. A musical mediator and the glue that brings everything together, Herb’s playing is as solid and flashy as they come. Steve Mieszala accents each song with his wide arrangement of keyboard sounds. Blending together all the other instruments, Steve's experienced musical ability allows for each song to take on a personality of its own. Thunder, lightning, and non stop relentless machine-gun like drumming is provided by TK Kennedy. A drummer who plays outside the box and mixes up time signatures rounds off Steel Kingdom.
