Aaron DeRuyter, Justin DeWolf, Ryan Williamson, Nick Adams
Hailing from Rochester, NY, DeVall Music calls the Fingerlakes region home base. The band is dubbed Americana/ Indie and plays a mix of twangy alt-country rock and roots-folk with a taste of old time splendor. Their freshman album "transit" was released in late 2007 and praised by critics both locally and regionally.
Frontman and Songwriter Aaron DeRuyter pulled together a group of musicians and hit the road in support of the release. DeRuyter covers acoustic, electric , steel guitar, vocals, harmonica and banjo, while Nick Adams picks away rhythm guitar on an acoustic. Keeping the beat is Ryan Williamson on drums and percussion and Justin DeWolf on bass.
In 2009 DeVall played over 175 shows in fourteen states including major festivals and national radio programs. Their highly anticipated new album is in the works and set to be released on dunce records this summer. Their sound is reminiscent of Neil Young during the Harvest days mixed with the twangy punch of Wilco's guitars. Americana, rock and roll, Indie, folk...whatever you call it, DeVall music comes out of the gate punching and crosses the finish line before you realize they have covered the entire spectrum of human emotion in their own down-tempo home grown way.
