CONCERT REVIEW: Danny Morris Band at the Dino

As I snapped my fingers and nursed a chocolate milk, ex-Nighthawk Strat-slinger Danny Morris hung 10 off the Dinosaur stage last night. His reverb-soaked sound had him surfing on a BBQ pipeline. Morris picks pretty ("I Only Have Eyes For You") in between incredibly fast surf numbers, during which you can feel the breeze coming off his left hand as he flutters and picks 16th, 32nd, and maybe even 64th notes. The Danny Morris Band is a deluxe bar band for sure, which explains the Beatles covers I could have done without. Either way his incredible playing had jaws vying for space with all the happy feet on the dance floor.
