I've seen Bill Frisell three or four times now and this was definitely the best. Frisell kicked off hit set at Kilbourn Hall gently searching for a melody. The one he found had no bones as it sweetly slithered into something our ears could read. As the trio ascended so did the music's tangibility, and before you know it, Frisell's Tele had us thumbing a ride on the Lost Highway. A ride that went from vacillation to honky-tonk fascination. Way cool.
The Faux Frenchman bopped Gypsy style, full of up-tempo acoustically minded sorties at the Jazz Street Stage. Very sidewalk café and suitable for the huge crowd that clogged Gibbs Street turning the sidewalk into a sidestand. I dug the twin guitarists with their fleet fingered fills, trills, and thrills.

I'm not sure if this is "tongue in cheek", but let's assume so (I'm referring to the "No Wave"...
That drums bass band was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
