The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival has announced two more headliners for the 2010 edition: R&B legend Gladys Knight and experimental jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock.
Knight will perform opening night, Friday, June 11, and Hancock will play on Tuesday, June 15. Both shows will start at 8 p.m. in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre. Tickets cost $55-$95, and will go on sale Friday, January 22, through rochesterjazz.com, Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, or at the Auditorium Theatre (885 E Main St); note that service charges are only $1 at the Aud.
The 2010 XRIJF will run June 11-19 in multiple venues in downtown Rochester. Knight and Hancock join previously announced headliners Jeff Beck and Bernie Williams; the full 2010 schedule will be announced in early spring. For more information visit the Jazz Fest's website.
