JAZZ BLOG 2010 PREVIEW: What Dale's seeing Friday night

I'll be checking out the new tent at Abilene's Roots & Americana Stage - one of the new Jazz Fest venues. Pity I've lost my normal parking spot, but it's worth it for a chance to see Earl Pickens & Family (7:45 & 9:45 p.m.). Then I'll  pop across the street to Harro East for a bit of Billy's Band before heading over to the Big Tent to see the Sauce Boss (8:30 & 10 p.m.). Or visa versa. Gotta love how the show times are structured.

Looking forward to Jazz Fest, and your great coverage. I need clarification on the Stanley Jordan show, though. In your printed pullout, you list just one show at the Harro at 5:30 on Monday. Typically, and according to the RIJF grid, the Harro features two shows, starting at 5:30 and 7:15. I'd hate to show up for the 7:15 SJ show and find out there isn't one... Thanks

M: Excellent question. The Jazz Fest itself initially had Jordan listed playing only one show, and that's the information we used. The error was not pointed out to the Jazz Fest until after our printed guide came out, but they fixed it after that point, and our online guide has been changed to reflect that. Stanley Jordan will play at the Harro East at 5:30 AND 7:15 p.m. on June 14.
