In order to critique an album, asses its worth and recommend it, you've gotta spend a little time. Comparisons to previous work, line-up changes, visits to rehab, moves in different directions become apparent after a few spins. But what about the first spin and its initial rush? Especially when it's a good record the first time? None of this "it'll grow on you" crap; turn me on now, dammit.
That being said, I've listened to the Gore Gore Girls' fantastic new CD "Get The Gore" exactly once. The Shangri-Las' beehive bop, crunchy guitars, Motor City grease, and bad girl attitude is what I've always loved about these ladies. They wail, they rock, and this record is easily the best they've put out. So give it a listen, at least once. But I guarantee you'll wanna give this maximum rotation. Trip No. 2 is in my headphones now...
