After years of audience anticipation for his post-Rage Against The Machine career, vocalist Zach de la Rocha opts for quality over quantity on this five-song EP. That's wise, because de la Rocha and drummer bandmate Jon Theodore already begin to repeat themselves by Track 4. It's a minor bump, though,
in an otherwise invigorating listening experience. Falling close to Rage territory, this time de la Rocha himself provides the squeals and riffs on keyboards that pump through a dense mix courtesy of Beastie Boys collaborator Mario Caldato. It has become familiar as air, but de la Rocha's delivery sounds startlingly fresh here, and he pulls a long-hidden ace when he starts to actually sing. "One Day As A Lion" offers promise of a new beginning for an artist who has been silent way too long.
