The Laws recently moved from their native Canadian province of Ontario to Nashville, which they hope will help boost them to mainstream prominence in the country-music world. And they have plenty of supporters who believe the husband-and-wife duo is poised for a major breakthrough, not just in Canada Advertisementbut in the States and beyond. Melding country, bluegrass, folk, and pop with heavenly harmonies - one critic compared them to the Everly Brothers in their prime - into a sweet amalgamation of sounds, the Laws earned the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Competition in 2007, the same year they released their fifth CD, "Ride It Out," on their own label.
