FOLK: The Laws (3/15)
By Ryan Whirty on Mar. 12th, 2008
The Laws recently moved from their native Canadian province of Ontario to Nashville, which they hope will help boost them to mainstream prominence in the country-music world. And they have plenty of supporters who believe the husband-and-wife duo is poised for a major breakthrough, not just in Canada
but in the States and beyond. Melding country, bluegrass, folk, and pop with heavenly harmonies - one critic compared them to the Everly Brothers in their prime - into a sweet amalgamation of sounds, the Laws earned the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Competition in 2007, the same year they released their fifth CD, "Ride It Out," on their own label.
