After graduating from Berklee College of Music in the mid-1980's, Cyrus Chestnut became one of the most sought-after pianists in jazz. He was recruited to play with rising stars like Donald Harrison, Terence Blanchard, and Roy Hargrove, and made a name for himself in the band of the great Betty Carter. AdvertisementSince 1992 Chestnut has recorded 16 albums as a leader. His latest CD, "Cyrus Plays Elvis," lives up to its title with gospel-tinged renditions of everything from "Hound Dog" to "In The Ghetto."
