JAZZ: WXXI Jazz Films (6/15)
By Ron Netsky on Jun. 11th, 2008
There may not be a headliner at the Eastman Theatre Sunday at the Rochester International Jazz Festival, but instead you'll find four hours of rare films of jazz greats in concert. The film fest is hosted, with brief commentary, by Tom Hampson, who has hosted Rochester's longest-running jazz radio show
- "Mostly Jazz," WXXI-AM 1370, 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays - for almost 50 years. Here's the schedule: Count Basie, 4 p.m.; Modern Jazz Quartet with Stephane Grappelli, 5 p.m.; Woody Herman and Bill Watrous' Manhattan Wildlife Refuge, 6 p.m.; Oscar Peterson and Joe Pass, 7 p.m.
